Thae Young-ho, former No. 2 diplomat at North Korea’s London embassy, who defected in July of this year, told reporters that the world should expect further nuclear provocations from North Korea in 2017. Even without the 2017 leadership transitions in both the U.S. and South Korea, North Korea’s successes in 2016 in both its ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs has put a pep in its step that will likely carry into the new year.
