How to disable (kill) the RFID chip

These days it seems to be almost impossible to get a bank or credit card without a RFID chip. The RFID chip is what makes contactless payments possible. It is used to do small purchases quickly and wireless over a short distance without entering your pin.
Why would you want to disable it? Besides the small payments you can do without effort, it is also possible to read from the card every time you get close to a reader. This can be readers on the anti-theft units in shops. So you can be tracked very easily. Also criminals can read your card.
Why destroy it? Well you can block it with a special casing but that is not 100% safe. And well it is easy to destroy it and sometimes that is the best way. Why spend money on a casing.

How? Well it is not even difficult. A short explanation. The RFID antenna (spool antenna) is integrated in the card. This antenna is connected to the chip in the pass. This antenna has 2 function. Sending and receiving with a high frequency signal and providing power to the chip by using low frequency, induction power. If you keep the card against a very bright light you can see the antenna. There are 3 to 5 lanes parallel to each other around the pass. Just make a marking with a pencel at one of these lanes. Then you can drill a very small hole and by doing so, you interrupt the lane. After this, there is no power for the chip. And no communication from the chip to the antenna possible.

Important: Do not make a hole on a place where you see the magnet lane or the chip itself. Some people say you can cut of a small piece of the card (on the edge) where there is a lane. But by doing so there is a chance your pass will get swallowed by the ATM machine.
