Εκδηλώσεις και συμμετοχές του Συλλόγου Iστορικών Mελετών 'Κορύβαντες'

2-4 ΙΟΥΝΙΟΥ 2012 - ΣΥΜΜΕΤΟΧΗ ΣΤΟ ΔΙΕΘΝΕΣ ΙΣΤΟΡΙΚΟ ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ "GALLOROMAN DAYS" , ΛΥΩΝ - ΓΑΛΛΙΑ 1) We are pleased to announce the Participation of the Living History Association “KORYVANTES” to the International Archaeological Festival “GALO-ROMAN DAYS” that is organized by the Museum SAINT ROMAIN EN GAL and the French Republic’s Ministry of Culture.

The festival will be held on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of June 2012 and it will take place on the premises of the Museum located in the historical city of Vienne near Lyon in France.The International Festival Gallo-Roman Days that functions under strict technical and historical standards imposed by the French Academic Community. The museum Saint Roman En Gal receives every year thousands of visitors and is under the eye of the International Academic Community, as under these activities, a lot of studies and experimental archaeology projects are accomplished. The average number of visitors reaches the figure of 30.000.

In the two days of the Festival our Association will perform 4 demonstrations that will include: Hoplite Phalanx Action, Hoplite Dueling, Pankration, Hoplitodromy, conflict of Legion with the Phalanx, as well as lectures to the public. In less than a year our Association is called upon to represent our country in an International Cultural Event, proving that in our culturally dry times, persistent an serious effort in combination with love and respect towards tradition can yield fruit.

2) Dear Friends of our Association, The Living History Association “KORYVANTES” is pleased to announce its participation at the International Academic Convention, organized by the Humanitarian Studies Academy of the Poltusk University in Poland, with title: “Disasters, Catastrophes and the Ends of the World in Sources”, that will take place in the above mentioned Academy on 25th till 27th of June 2012.

The members of our Association Nikolaos Kleisiaris, Stefanos Skarmintzos and Dimitrios Katsikis will offer a lecture with subject "The Man-Made Economic Disaster of the Mid- 12th Century B.C. and the reconstruction (through means of experimental archaeology) of the military technology that brought it about".

The lecture will take place on Wensday 27th June 2012 at 08:30 a.m. at the Academy’s Archaeology and Technology Sector area.You can see the convention program here
